The treatments applied to restore a painting depend on the preliminary technical study we carry out and an analysis of the state of conservation of each work of art. In general, they can be divided into support treatments to restore the canvas, the stretcher or the panel, and pictorial layer treatments to restore the painting. Among the first ones, the most common are the restoration of breaks in canvases, the correction of deformations and stretching of the canvas, or the need to re-tension them in special cases. The most common treatments to restore a painting, are the cleaning of varnishes, the elimination of repainting, the fixing of craquelure with risk of paint loss, the chromatic reintegration of faults or the varnishing of paintings.
